This pass permits up to two adults and anyone under the age of 18 to have access at no charge to the conservatory during regular business hours.
The Volunteer Park Conservatory, opened in 1912, was designed as the jewel of Seattle’s Olmsted Parks system. Modeled after Victorian conservatories in Europe, it arrived as a kit from the Hitchings Company of New York and was assembled by the City’s Parks Department. A living museum for over a century, it houses rare tropical and desert plants from around the world. Original features like the Swamp Cypress “peacock” window and Carnegie Steel frame remain intact. The Conservatory offers a unique blend of botanical education and artistic plant displays, making it a one-of-a-kind destination in Seattle.
