This pass permits up to two adults and anyone under the age of 18 to have access at no charge to the garden during regular business hours. Please note this pass does not include access to tea ceremonies. A separate ticket is required.
Open since 1960, the Seattle Japanese Garden is one of North America's most celebrated Japanese-style gardens. Located in a lush arboretum, it welcomes over 100,000 visitors annually. Designed by Juki Iida, the 3.5-acre stroll garden reflects the essence of nature, or shizensa, blending traditional Japanese and Pacific Northwest plants. Winding paths guide visitors through landscapes inspired by Japan’s mountains, forests, and seas. Granite rocks from the Cascades, seasonal changes, and mindful design offer a serene, ever-evolving experience. Every visit reveals new colors, textures, and tranquility—encouraging a slower, more reflective way of seeing the world.
